After five night's worth of Christmas parties and NYE shenanigans, it's safe to say that I have had my fair share of the DAILIES TOTAL1 experience and am here to deliver my verdict: it's five yes'es from me, and I'll see you at..... your soon-to-be-built DAILIES TOTAL1 shrine. That will be in my room, next my mirror. Where I'll reach for you every morning.

Apologies, bad joke. I won't put you through that. All I'll do say is, DAILIES TOTAL1 really did the job for me. I have officially lost/ misplaced my contact lens liquid eye drop because let's be honest - I don't need it anymore!
My eyes are brighter than before and get tired less easily compared to my old lens which is, funnily, also from Alcon, except it is dated. It will be SOO hard to switch back to my own lens once I run out of DAILIES TOTAL1, but I'll have to, since I have about 4 large packs of them at home (I bought them in bulk from OPSM online when they did a deal once.)
So much so to the point that I find myself limiting my TOTAL1's usage to reach for the blue Dailies All Day Comfort now if I know I'll be home early. And when I know I'll be out after work, I'll wear my brown DAILIES TOTAL1s.
Pro: Incredible comfort. They don't just do their job - they've OUTDONE themselves. I think us contact lens wearers are used to 'putting up' with uncomfortable lenses because of the lack of technology available. The same way people from the 50's wore thick and heavy rimmed glasses and put up with the discomfort because they rather that than put up with blurry eyesight. So now that we've got the luxury of this new technology, what's stopping me?
Which leads me to....
Con: The price. $$$$$$$$$$$$.
You pay for what you get -- fits exactly in this situation. It is an extremely high quality product, but it is easily more than twice of what I am used to paying for my All Day Comforts. However, rather than a luxury, I see the TOTAL1 as an essential. The health of my eyes are so important to me, and of course I'm going to give them as much oxygen and comfort they need to help me see clearly everyday.
Before anyone accuses me of encouraging consumerism, I just want to explain that the nature of my job requires me working in front of a computer every single day so this is definitely an investment for me. If you are still a teenager in high school or still studying and not earning enough to support yourself, I can understand it might not be the right time for you to invest in them yet... wait a few more years and I promise you won't regret purchasing these! :)

Happy (belated) birthday!! Hope you had a super fab new years as well :)
ReplyDeleteI've been putting off getting glasses for as long as I can (I'm only short sighted in one eye, so I can get away with it), so ideally I'd move onto contacts as quickly as I can. The Total1s sound like a good transition for any contact newbs!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy dinner with my son and my wife
I would go travelling around Cambodia and Vietnam with my friends without having to worry about getting my eyes infected from fidgeting with solution and contact cases (and I'll get to go swimming at the beaches with clear vision!)
