Whether you are a working corporate or a student going for your first job interview, a great piece of white shirt and blazer is a wardrobe essential. With Arisology's new range of minimal, high-quality yet affordable work wear, you'll be impressing your work colleagues (or future bosses) in no time.
Despite spring now being in full swing (even Daylight savings has commenced!), Sydney still gets a little chilly sometimes and this is when a nice button up long sleeve can save you from catching a cold. I like the linen material as well, because it still keeps you cool and breathable!

Celebrating the first week of Spring in a blush tank top and bare feet goodness! Loving the gradual cheer-up of the weather and can't wait till good times roll around. The salt, sand and sun is just around the corner guys :) What do you have planned this season?
I'm the worst person to wear white. As the most accident-prone person on planet Earth, I spill everything on myself -- which only happens when I wear white clothes, of course. My mom aka Zen Master thinks it's because my chakra is imbalanced, but that's a story for another day.
So by default, nude is the next best alternative. It's light enough to look like I made an effort avoiding black during winter, yet dark enough to hide chakra-related incidents. I especially love this head-to-toe Sheike set that I found at Westfield Burwood. They're giving away $1000 Westfield gift card in collaboration with The Woolmark Company, and all you have to do is take a selfie with a wool item from your closet! :) More details of the competition can be found here.
Lastly, I just want to declare my love for this Sheike belt. It's a detachable belt that comes with the purchase of these pants, but what an amazing choker does it make! I would easily wear it with other light-colored outfits, especially during come summer with off-shoulder tops. The only downside is that the belt is a little long so keeping it tucked in might be problem.
Here's wishing they made an actual choker version of it for their next collection. Hi Sheike designers -- *hint hint!!*
When I think of outfits for a sexy night out, what springs to mind isn't a tight Kim Kardashian/ Kookai-esque body-con dress. Instead, a simple, strappy slip dress with that screams elegance and exudes confidence on the wearer. Even better when it's made out of silk!
But as a huge advocate of layering and reusing your summer wardrobe for transeasonal pieces, I find it extremely wearable even for autumn/ winter. And I'm not just talking about throwing a big coat over your summer dress. I'm talking about layering it over your favourite turtlenecks! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Here are three things I learned after moving out of my parent's home:
1. Groceries in the fridge do not refill themselves.
2. I can't finish a 2L carton of milk in a week (that's what housemates are for).
3. I actually don't really need two-thirds of my wardrobe.
Okay so a little bit of a back story... When roomie-cum-landlord Miles first asked me to move in with everyone else, I was thrilled but hesitant. Where would I put all my clothes from my built in wardrobe? And my makeup collection? What about all my shoes? How can I possibly part with them, especially if the time comes where I absolutely need that pair of Louis Vuitton red heels with black lace ups to match my outfit?
Turns out I never thought about that pair of shoes at all, let alone needed it for any emergency event. Go figure.
Currently my wardrobe consists of one, yes, an honest-to-god one full rack jackets/tops/dresses consisting of my basics blue (denim mostly), black, grey and white. Skirts and pants each take up an Ikea box and accessories take up another. That's my wardrobe that I'll been living with for half a year now, and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much easier getting dressed has become for me.
I have my basics like tank tops, tee shirts and long sweaters. A few summer printed dresses by Faithful, the rest are stripes. When I get bored of the limitless combination, I layer. Layering has always been my passion (Margaret Zhang, here's looking at you), and the outfit I've featured here is probably my most-worn layering outfit of all time. Here are a few handy rules to go by:
1. Invest in a white turtleneck knit. This is a STAPLE. I can't tell you how many times I've worn this little number, but the holes that started forming down my sleeves might be a good indication.
2. Don't put away your summer wardrobe. Yes you heard me!! I know some super organised bloggers who actually store away their summer wardrobe when fall approaches. 100% no! I love layering anything sleeveless over a long sleeve turtleneck knit (see point 1). A black tank top, a spaghetti strapped slip dress, a sleeveless denim dress, black denim overalls... The list goes on...
3. Experiment. Once I wore a swimwear bra over a white tee shirt, and was soo proud, thinking that I started a trend. "No one understands me", "Imma dress how I want and not care what you think!". Yeah, nah, Jojo. I would not be caught dead in it now!! But that's what fashion is all about, experimenting, breaking rules and learning from them as your aesthetics changes. What is your worst fashion faux pas and how did you get over it?

As a risk-averse individual (gambling gives me anxiety!), I feel like I will always strive for the basic, au natural look when it comes to beauty. When I was younger, I loved experimenting with colours in my wardrobe, but I have always steered clear of the bright pink lip. Now that I'm in my mid 20's, not only do I keep my makeup simple (I will never be caught dead with electric blue eyeshadow), I strive to prioritise cruelty-free and healthy makeup. So when a brand like Tarte Cosmetics uses buzz-words like "eco-chic makeup", "naturally-derived ingredients" and the lot, I go ga-ga. Here are some of my Tarte favourites which are, luckily for you, available on Sephora.com.au...
When I first laid eyes on the Tartelette In Bloom palette at Sephora's Media Showcase back in January, I fell head over heels in love. If you follow me on Snapchat (@bamitsjoanne, what else?) you would have seen this palette in all its nude/brown glory. So when it finally came in the mail last week, I squealed like a 7 year old girl feeding a dolphin for the first time. I showed it off to my male housemates who probably are rethinking their decision to share a house with a palette-obssessed female (commonly associated with the phrase 'crazy cat lady').
But help me out now - how could you resist!? It's the most amazingly curated eyeshadow palette that's both versatile and easy-to-wear. Consisting of three shimmer colours and nine matte ones, the Tartelette In Bloom palette is made out of incredibly pigmented eyeshadows with huge colour pay-offs. Swatch above as proof. Granted, I have not tried it on my eyelids yet, but I'm considering doing a look with it that I might blog about. Comment down below if you would like to see it! :)
Tarteist Clay Paint Liner (featured in first picture - black and gold tube)
Unfortunately, the Tarteist Clay Paint liner did not quite deliver the same level of quality as with the palette. In fact, to be brutally honest, this is probably my least favourite product out of the lot. I consider myself an eyeliner junkie, and this liner puts Tarte's name to shame. Though the colour payoff is great (a very intense black), the consistency is sub-par and the formula smudges on my non-oily eyelids after approximately an hour of wear, which is a massive no-no for any eyeliner product in my opinion.
Tarteist Lip Crayon in Latergram and Lip Paint in TBT
The liner may have been disappointing, but behold... my current favourite lip combo at the mo!!! Yes, this product deserves three childish exclamation marks - that's how much I'm in love with the Tarteist Lip Paint in TBT! According to a friend and makeup artist who works at Sephora, TBT is Tarte's most demanded shade in their lip paint range. Side note, how cute are the names?
In terms of formula, the lip paint glides on smoothly, and it's neither too thick nor dries you out. When it comes to lip products, I'm not one for touch-ups, so the long-lasting power = constant reapplication not required = happy Jojo. The Lip Crayon in Latergram is a key component in helping the lip paint stay on, but you can go without it and still look fabulous for a few hours at least. That being said, touch up is still required after food and drinks consumption, so if you are looking for "tattoo liquid lipsticks", this one isn't for you.
Once again, quirky names, stunning formula, decent longevity. However, I'm afraid the colours in this combination is a little too light for my skin tone (NC35). This is highly unfortunate, but it will make a beautiful, everyday nude for someone with paler skin.
Before you gasp in horror and pass virtual judgments about me... if you've been reading my blog I hope you'd get my sense of humour enough to know that I am just kidding.... Or am I? Hahaha. The Bam realm shall never find out.
Moving along, here are two very different outfits I've curated just for you especially for Valentine's Day, whether you have a Tinder date or not. Enjoy, bookmark this page and stay inspired this V-Day!
These Alias Mae heels have become a cult favourite. You can tell from these pictures that they are slightly too large for me (the smallest they came in was a 36, and I'm normally a size 35-36), but I still wear them anyway when I want to look good and know that I won't be walking around too much - for example on a nice V-day dinner date where he picks me up in his car ;-)
I naturally leaned towards white and red for a beautiful candle-lit dinner date, because white gives off the air of someone fresh, angelic and pure. It's definitely something I want to feel like on a day of celebration and love. The Chloe signature Eau de Parfum that I recently got as a birthday present embodies this idea so well, I'll be wearing it on Valentine's Day as it's currently my holy grail/ favourite scent!
Loving my hair here, styled and curled for once. I recently got the Babyliss Pro Ceramic curler off Adore Beauty and have started curling my hair every since. I think loose waves look a lot more flattering on short hair. I have chopped off at least two inches since this outfit was shot and currently my hair sits slightly below shoulder length, so all the more reason to have perfectly styled hair when I'm not too busy abusing my roommate's Netflix account working or socialising.
