FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Monday, March 31, 2014
Good morning! I've been wanting to do this post for a while now, finally got around to doing it last night. I get these questions a lot so I thought I would put up an FAQ post.
1. Who takes your photos?
I used to take them myself using a tripod & remote control, but since early this year I lost my remote (I know, what an idiot), so I've been getting my friends to do it. So far I've used my dad, Theresa and Anthony (I usually credit them in the pics). Sometimes I collaborate with photographers for certain outfit posts.
2. What are you studying & what year are you in?
I am double majoring in Accounting & Economics, and I'm a 4th year Commerce (Liberal Studies) student at Sydney Uni.
3. Where do you work?
I work 3 days a week as a finance intern at a luxury fashion house.
4. When did you start FABSOC (Fashion and Beauty Society)?
I had the idea back in Sept '12, but didn't actually start the first branch at Sydney Uni until early March '13 with the help of GlamCorner.
5. Can I join FABSOC?
Yes, of course! We have now branched out to UNSW, Macq Uni and soon to Melb Uni. You can contact your own Uni's FABSOC directly, or email me if you wish to start one at your uni.
6. How many languages do you speak?
English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay. I took introductory Korean, Jap and Spanish classes intermittently but forgot 80% of what I learned within a few months.
7. Where did you dye your hair?
I did it at a Korean salon in Malaysia for RM300 (that's $100!)
8. How long have you been blogging for?
I started late 2011 under another pseudonym, relaunched it as Bam It's Joanne in early 2013.
9. How did you get into blogging?
I mainly started posting outfit pics on Instagram & realised that I actually enjoy showing off my clothes. So I thought, why not.
10. What's your background/where are you from?
I'm Malaysia Chinese, born in Australia and left when I was 5. My parents are both English-educated & didn't utter a word of Mandarin so they wanted to send me back to Malaysia to learn Chinese. I went to Kuen Cheng in KL for junior high before going to California for high school. I then came back to Australia for Uni because who says to HECS benefit?
