MEN'S SERIES: HOW TO WEAR A VELVET BLAZER

As promised, I'm happy to announce that Bam It's Joanne is launching into a whole new category - men's fashion. I've had a few requests from readers about advice/showcasing men's fashion. When I see guys on the city, or at work, who dress well, it's automatically a head-turned for me (though good looks don't hurt either). I feel I have much more to learn about men's fashion but I've gotten help from a friend Anthony who agreed to be my guest model for this post. I'll be using different guy friends throughout this series, so don't worry if you get bored of his face :P

My main source of inspiration is Adam Gallagher. I find myself setting him as the example of how every man should dress. He can do both casual and formal so effortlessly well. If I were a guy I'd definitely want to raid his closet. Hell, I'd raid his closet as a girl if I could, to dress my future boyfriend (Btw, I'm in need of a photographer boyfriend, please apply in the comments below.. kidding!).

But back to the topic, Anthony bought this burgundy velvet blazer from ASOS just in time to spend Christmas with his family down in Melbourne. Since the velvet blazer is enough of a statement piece, he cleverly paired it with a simple white tee and laid back dark grey Chinos. As for accessories? Well remember, brown shoes-brown belt; black shoes-black belt!

When I asked him why he chose brown over black, he said it burgundy looks a little harsh with black. Do you agree? Drop me a comment and let me know what you think!

BEHIND THE SCENES: LADAKH THE LABEL

Haha the last picture makes me laugh. I was invited to cover the Behind The Scenes that went on during Ladakh's most recent campaign for their upcoming collection.

The location was at The Winery in Surry Hills, and has one of the most decadent furnitures. Think mahagony chairs, resembling that of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die video. I also assume this is a VIP/ private function area (I'm not sure) since it was upstairs, closed off from the public area. If you're ever visiting, do me a favor and order the Mango Brulee & Ice-cream. You'll love me forever, I promise.

Marnie Skillings, the incredible visionary behind the Australian label Ladakh, was stylist for the day. Her, along with Oz Beauty Expert Bonnie G (represented by Roxy Jacenko), made the perfect team to create looks after looks of perfection. I, for one, can't wait till the collection comes up!

This collection will be dropping in April so keep your eyes peeled :) My favorite piece so far is the green printed flounce skirt in the third to last picture. What about you? BASIC BITCH

Hello all my loyal readers! This is my first post of 2014! Sorry for the lack of posting lately.. I swear I'll get back into the swing of things once Uni starts! I have this theory where the higher my stress level, the more I'm prone to procrastinating.. the more I blog to avoid doing 'proper' work haha :P

Now that summer is here in Australia, I'm all about lazing around under the sun, spending time with people I love, eating mangoes, yoghurt and drinking green juice. When you start to properly enjoy life & being in the present moment, technology comes in second.

Anyway, this new year, I want to get back to the basics for my wardrobe- I feel the most comfortable in this outfit combo, and I've been wearing this white shirt + denim shorts combination alot this summer (Believe it or not it was my birthday outfit).
