The 'Back Tuck'

Introducing... The 'BackTuck' aka BT, where you tuck your excess material from your top into your back pocket instead of your pants. Hence the name, Back Tuck. As you can see I'm trying to turn this into a thing... hastag #backtuck #backpockettuck #pockettuck #trendsetter

I wore this denim on denim look to work today- it was obviously a controversial outfit because there were mixed reviews. I feel like such a rebel.

And yes in case you're wondering I AM wearing glasses! Guess why:

The Secret to Finding the Perfect Pair of Jeans

White tee, perfect jeans and black killer shoes.... Introducing you to my spring uniform... :D

This is currently my FAV FAV FAV pair of denim! I've never had a pair that fits/hugs my legs so well. Even though at first glance they looked too small for me (I had to jump and jump in order to fit into them), we all know that denim stretches, and after a couple of wear it just fits like a glove.

So from this experience I've found out that the secret to perfect form-fitting jeans is to actually go a size down. Granted, the first time I tried the pants on, when I squatted (ALWAYS squat in new jeans- it's the ultimate comfort test) the button came off!! Not something a new button and an amazingly talented mom couldn't fix..... My mom is such a sewing pro, I still wonder why Ferrari hasn't hired her to sew their leather car seats....

Just a few of the things that I wish can magically appear in my wardrobe right now... Evidently I have a minor fever for striped long sleeves, pencil skirts, jersey tops, and anything mesh, paneled, transparent, leather, structured, and monochrome.

My style has evolved over the years. When I first started uni (about two and a half years ago), I was all into the 'vintage/hipster' scene, where I'd wear oversize outerwear and my favourite shop to visit was Vinnies. Color-blocking and print-clashing was a no brainer. I was having fun experimenting, and I didn't understand it when people said "I'm starting to inject color into my wardrobe"- color came so naturally to me.

Now, 2.5 years later, I'm inspired by the minimalist, classy look. Trends may or may not have played a part, but honestly speaking, not all trends have spoken quite so closely to my heart. Now, I like fine jewellery (as opposed to statement necklaces), pencil skirts (as opposed to minis) and strapped stilettos (instead of chunky platforms: think Jeffrey Campbell Litas). I find myself investing more on classic pieces rather than loud statements.

Maybe I'm growing up to be a lady, maybe my wardrobe just needed an update. Either way, rest assured that every once in a while, that hipster-loving girl in me will pop a visit. I'm just too adventurous to stick to one style for long.

Singapore Collaboration (Part II)

Here comes the second installation! For the benefit of those who didn't read my previous post, I had the incredible opportunity (and pleasure) last month to style and shoot for a label based in Singapore. I am super honored to be their first international blogger to be featured in their upcoming Lookbook. The collection hasn't officially launched so I am not allowed to give out any details, but here are some of the looks I'm allowed to share with y'all....

My personal favorite outfit would hands down be the one with the monochrome striped shift dress. It consists of everything I'm obsessed with at the moment.. Black and white, stripes, sunnies (summer's coming!) and what my uni mates call my "signature study hair". My hair is always in a messy top knot while I'm at uni- that's how my friends recognize me from the back!

I feel like I was also channeling a little bit of Style Nanda in those pictures. Why can't I just be Korean already? Someone please invent a Korean pill.

Last but not least, I just want to say a big thank you to my incredibly generous sponsor (who shall remain nameless for now) for having me in Singapore and shouting me to a lovely dinner after the shoot. You have made my stay in Singapore so much more pleasant! Love you to bits <3 nbsp="" p="">

It was a wonderful experience for me, shooting at one of the most gorgeous cities in the world, overlooking the waters along Marina Bay. We also shot at Gardens by the Bay, Arts and Science Museum and in front of the infamous Louis Vuitton store near Marina Bay Sands! (Yes, of course I went in and compared prices. :P)

Singapore Collaboration (Part I)

Took these pictures last month when I was in Singapore for four days. One of the brands I used to work with decided that we should do another collaboration, and here is the Lookbook! Well, part of it anyway.

I'm not allowed to disclose the brand's name yet because the collection still hasn't officially gone live, but will update you guys as I go along! Right now, here are some of the pictures that I couldn't wait to share....

Amazing, amazing photography- I'm so impressed by the outcome! Also loving the floral print on this dress (you might notice it's the same one from where I wore at Bugis street from my Instagram pic...)

Most adorable floral playsuit! I wore it in Malaysia the other day paired with a leather jacket... Perfect amount of edgy/feminine (my favorite combo).

Sheer Goodness

Because wearing a completely see through top is tres awesome. And by saying that I've just refuted my awesomity. And coined a new word. What I meant to say was... I'm loving everything sheer, mesh and paneled at the moment! Did I mention sheer?

Sheer is all over the runway recently. Designers known for their minimalist style (think Alexander Wang) and those known for wacky creations (like Marc Jacobs) are all embracing this trend. Here's PROOF: an amazing sheer silk blouse by T by Alexander Wang; whereas Louis Vuitton FW13 is all about sheer nightgowns (with a fair share of dip-dyed sequins and slouchy fur coats of course).

I took these pictures early Saturday morning before ~~barely~~ catching the bus to work, and I think the perfect amount of sunlight reflected to show my new hair color! I got it done 3 weeks ago, and I'm still not sick of it yet- which is always a good sign. A work mate even said I look more tanned. I'm taking it as a compliment.

To match my new hair color I have bought a new eyebrow liner called 04 Light Grey from Cybercolors (got it from Malaysia, available at any SASA stores in Asia). To achieve this look I've also used a dark brown eye shadow to contour my nose and subsequently highlight my nose bridge. I think this step of contouring (and the filled in eyebrows) makes a huge difference in my makeup routine. My nose doesn't usually look like this. It's a makeup trick.
